Today we are pleased to announce that Gene Cabral has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Avia NG and will begin his new role on September 19th. Gene comes from his current role as Executive Vice President PortsToronto, the Owner and Operator of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport where he has served as the lead and Accountable Executive since 2011. Gene also currently serves as the Chair of the Small Airport Caucus of the Canadian Airports Council (CAC). With three decades of direct experience working in senior leadership roles in aviation including for the airlines and CATSA, Gene’s skills will strengthen the Avia NG Senior Management Team through his exceptional leadership style, effective communication skills
and strong relationships throughout the aviation community. Gene will lead Avia NG’s Senior Management Team as the company explores new strategic goals around future post-pandemic airport investments in Canada and the Caribbean with a focus on implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies.
